Species infomation

Distinctive features:

  1. Cirri yellowish to green.
  2. Red iris with blue ring.
  3. Greenish-yellow spots on lower jaw and head.

Physical description:

One pair of nasal and orbital cirri. Eye and nasal cirri either unbranched or lightly branched

Colouration:

Reddish brown with 2 rows of ~10 pale blotches along base of dorsal fin and lower flank. Head and body with blue dots. Lower cheek and throat with green-yellow spots. Cirri a yellow-green.

Size:

Reaches 6.0 cm.

Habitat:

Found in empty barnacle shells on rocky reefs

Notes:

Endemic to the Gálapgos islands.
