Distinctive features:

  1. 8 black blotches along midflank.
  2. Rust-coloured flecks on head.
  3. 2-3 rusty blotches.

Physical description:

Very elongate body. No cirri.

Colouration:

Pale yellow-brown with 8 black blotches along midlfank. Front blotches with rust-coloured flecks. 8 dark saddles - one before pectoral fin going to the seventh blotch. Head with rusty flecks. Cheek has 2-3 oval rust-coloured blotches.
Female: pair of rusty spots along lower body above anal fin.

Size:

Reaches 4.8 cm.

Habitat:

Found in areas with rubble made of shells.

Notes:

Known from depths greater than 30 m.
