Distinctive features:

Physical description:

Simple but long and slender eye and nasal cirri. Pair of concave ridges between eyes.
Males: orbital cirri ~2.5x length of eye diameter. Front of dorsal fin elevated.

Colouration:

Preserved fish: orangish. 2 rows of 8 brown blotches along upper body and midflank. Blotches on midflank separated by thin bars. 2 dark bars along cheek. Dorsal fin with vertical stripes. Black blotch at base of first dorsal spine. Ocellus on upper dorsal fin between spines III-IV.

Size:

Reaches 6.0 cm.

Habitat:

Found on soft bottoms.
