Distinctive features:

1. Very elongate body.
2. No nasal cirri.
3. Orange blotch on cheek.
4. Body, head and dorsal fin with lots of white blotches.

Physical description:

Very elongate body. No nasal cirri. Simple, unbranched orbital cirri.

Colouration:

Pale grey-brown. White blotches on upper head with black spots on lower head. Small orange blotch on cheek. Black stripes radiating from eye down to lower jaw. Body with alternating white and faint black blotches. Black blotch at caudal base. Row of white blotches along midflank. Dorsal and caudal fin with alternating white and black stripes.

Size:

Reaches 5.4 cm.

Habitat:

Found on sandy bottoms.

Notes:

Known only from Isla Rey, Islas Perlas in Panama from a single specimen.
