Females and juveniles: largely transparent. Pink/blue cranial pattern of a Y with a dot in the centre. Red vertebral column with white dashes.
Breeding males: black head, front of body and dorsal fin. Iris black.
Reaches 3.0 cm.
Found on corals in patch reefs. Breeding males found in holes.
