Simple nasal and orbital cirri.
Males: orbital cirri longer than eye diameter.
Females: orbital cirri short, ~1/2 eye diameter.
Iris with large triangular-shaped blotch on bottom. Body becomes translucent after head. Black vertebral column with white dashes.
Males: green-grey to black head. White broken lines running down cheek. White spots on top of head and body. Cirri black. Upper body with alternating black blotches and white stripes. Row of white dots along lower body and midflank. Dorsal fin dark with yellowish-white streaks. Front of dorsal fin with white dot.
Females: green on top of head and white below. Blue and white spots on head. Dark stripes running down cheek. Cirri white. White blotch from behind head to just after pectoral fin base. Front of dorsal fin with a black blotch.
Reaches 3.5 cm.
Found in empty holes in rocky reefs.
Males of C. angelicus have long, yellow cirri and the front of the head red. Female C. angelicus have a broad white band behind the eye, while C. micropes have diagonal black lines.
Males and females of C. boehlkei have diagonal white stripes on the cheek and lips and white cirri. Males of C. micropes has white spots following a line and black cirri. Female C. micropes have diagonal black lines on cheek.
